Lactobacillus rhamnosus powder

Lactobacillus rhamnosus belongs to the genus Lactobacillus and subspecies rhamnose. It is an anaerobic, acid-resistant, non-spore-producing Gram-positive probiotic. Lactobacillus rhamnosus cannot utilize lactose but can ferment a variety of monosaccharides. Lactobacillus rhamnosus has biological characteristics such as acid resistance, bile salt resistance, and resistance to multiple antibiotics.

What is Lactobacillus rhamnosus powder?
Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (abbreviated as Lactobacillus GG or LGG) is mostly found in the intestines of humans and animals. In 1983, two professors from North Carolina State University (Gorbach and Goldin) isolated it from healthy humans and obtained a patent. The separation base is generally healthy adult feces, and its main function is to inhibit colon disorders; or it can be used in the production of probiotic supplement foods and the production of antibiotics. Joyous's LGG culture medium is: 10.0g casein peptone, 10.0g beef extract, 5.0g yeast powder, 5.0g glucose, 5.0g sodium acetate, 2.0g diammonium citrate, 1.0g Tween 80, 2.0g K2HPO4, MgSO4.7H2O 0.2g, MnSO4.H2O 0.05g, CaCO3 20.0g, agar 15.0g, distilled water 1.0L, pH 6.8. After being powdered by vacuum freeze-drying method, it is refrigerated at 6-10℃.

How about Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG?
Lactobacillus rhamnosus is very outstanding in its resistance to gastric acid and bile and can enter the human intestinal tract alive, while most other probiotic strains have died due to the action of gastric acid and bile before entering the intestinal tract. For example: under pH 3.0 conditions of Lactobacillus bulgaricus in ordinary yogurt, the number of viable bacteria drops to about 5% of the original number after half an hour, and the number of viable bacteria drops to about 0.5% of the original number after 1 hour. For Bifidobacteria, 30°C and pH 4.0 have a great impact on their survival. After 2 hours, the number of viable bacteria decreases by more than 70% to 90%. At pH 2.0, the number of viable bacteria decreases faster. The situation of Lactobacillus acidophilus Similar to Bifidobacteria. LGG can colonize the human body for up to two weeks, and can effectively improve and adjust the human gastrointestinal flora community, which is very beneficial to human health. Being able to colonize the human body will have a great impact on the physiological effects of a probiotic, while most other probiotic species cannot colonize the human body.

The role of Lactobacillus rhamnosus in regulating intestinal flora:
After LGG colonizes and multiplies in the human intestinal environment, it simply adheres to the host's intestinal epithelial cells and can become a biological barrier to the intestinal mucosa, thereby improving the host's intestinal mucosal barrier capability. Moreover, LGG can regulate the structure and function of the microbial ecosystem community in the host's intestines and bring it to a balanced state, thereby achieving the purpose of improving the function of the host's digestive tract system. Relevant studies have shown that the adhesion rate of LGG to adults is significantly higher than that of children, mainly because the intestinal environment of adults is more mature and suitable for LGG adhesion.

The effects of Lactobacillus rhamnosus on improving the body's immunity:
The human immune system can be divided into innate and adaptive immune systems. The innate immune system is mainly responsible for macrophages, white blood cells, etc. If there is dysfunction in the innate immune system, the adaptive immune system will function. The two work together to complete the body's immunity. Once the host suffers from trauma or infection, it will lead to immune system dysfunction.

The preventive and therapeutic effects of Lactobacillus rhamnosus on diarrhea:
LGG can be used to prevent and treat diarrhea. Related studies have shown that after 29 infants took LGG preparations and ordinary milk orally, LGG bacteria were detected in the feces of the infants who took LGG. It shows that after taking it, the host can regulate the intestinal flora with the help of LGG, and the therapeutic effect of diarrhea in infants taking LGG preparation is better than that of taking ordinary cow's milk.

Commercial value of Lactobacillus rhamnosus:
Lactic acid is the main fermentation product of lactic acid bacteria and can be divided into 3 types: L-lactic acid, D-lactic acid and DL-lactic acid. Since there is only L-lactate dehydrogenase in the human body, it can only metabolize L-lactate. WHO stipulates that the intake of D-lactic acid per person shall not exceed 100mg/kg, and D-type and DL-type lactic acid shall not be contained in food for infants under 3 months old. Lactobacillus rhamnosus LGG only produces L-lactic acid during the fermentation process and does not produce other acids that affect the safety and taste of the product.
Therefore, it is widely used in fermented dairy products, preserved milk, cheese, baby food, juice, fruit drinks and medicines.
